Hello @buf team,
The product looks awesome! Are you going to add pre-defined example values to the endpoint? We have built a little similar product (Gendocu), and it was the most requested feature from our customers.
On mobile (iPhone 13), it is impossible to switch between body, header, etc. Now I can’t send any request from mobile.
Is there any reason that this browser compatible protocol is just not a part of gRPC-Web? It would be much better to maintain community project than building new branded project.
How strongly connect relies on gRPC? Because it sounds like it’s easy to lock in to buf’s ecosystem.
In theory, there's no reason that grpc-web couldn't support a new protocol. That would be complicated, though; Envoy would also need to support it, and the gRPC team has already designed a protocol that they presumably like.
Connect supports gRPC fully, so you shouldn't ever be locked in - you can always migrate systems to `grpc-go`, one piece at a time. We intend all the Connect projects to be community projects - we're happy to accept contributions, design proposals, and anything else. At the same time, we're committing our resources to keeping these projects well-maintained.
They found one really long mail route that couldn't be serviced by an EV, so it's just a matter of crafting the requirements that every vehicle must handle every route, and you get the preordained outcome.
As the lawsuit says, they considered two plans: 10 percent EV and 100 percent EV. 100 percent EV rejected because there are unsuitable routes. Never considered 90 percent EV, or made any effort to identify what percentage would be feasible. The 100 percent plan was obviously designed to fail; just a fig leaf that they tried due diligence.
The saddest thing about it is that they still lead in all the polls. They won't rule after the next election as they can't get along with other political parties, but still have huge support. They polarize the community and that’s their way.
You’re right - 18 years is a lot for a car. But we’re not so far - The average age is 12 for the USA, but the average lifespan is around 13-17 depending on the source. So we might be closer than you pointed out ;)
