Dylan's poem seems much more straight forward (unlike Robert Frost's Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening for one)
For humanity it is all ephemeral/useless but give a good fight anyway. Oh vanity of vanities...
If there is an alternative/hidden meaning to this poem it would be fascinating to hear about it.
All critics/readers seems to think that father was indeed his own father that Dylan was writing to. Maybe it was not so?
