That article is misleading for a number of reasons, foremost that they performed a full format before getting started, effectively trashing the SSD's performance. See here:

However, TRIM support is mostly a moot point if you go with the Apple offered SSD upgrade, since the Toshiba drives they ship features very aggressive background GC (making TRIM rather redundant).
