This is really interesting. I was talking about using email instead of WhatsApp/Signal last week when the whole WhatsApp privacy situation exploded.
It's a shame this wasn't more visible last week when there was a big uptake of signal (or was it?).

Yes they delayed it due to the backlash. The plan is to still go ahead with it.
