can I ask why Palantir is recruiting using someone's personal gmail address? Considering the defense contractor / US Citizen requirements / security clearance issues possibly involved in working there, this is very odd. I am not complaining (as per dang's guidelines in the top level post) but curious about the process.

Good catch by the way. Neither "aisuiy94" nor "aaneo1000" has a single hit on Google, so for all we know this post could be from a non-allied foreign government.

[EDIT] In fact, someone from Palantir posted this warning on Quora:

A note from Palantir:

We have been made aware of individuals fraudulently claiming to represent Palantir recruiting. Please note that you will never be asked to submit a payment or share financial information to participate in our interview process. If you suspect that you've been contacted by a scammer, we recommend you cease all communication with the individual and consider reporting them to the relevant authorities, such as the US FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center. If you'd like to verify the legitimacy of an email you received from Palantir Recruiting, forward it to careers@palantir.com

[EDIT2] aisuiy94 deleted their post which makes this even more suspicious. For the record: They were a newly-created account, currently with 0 karma https://news.ycombinator.com/user?id=aisuiy94 and they said that people interested in applying for a job at Palantir should email their application/CV to aaneo1000@gmail.com

I would hope that the talent pool of people who might get hired by Palantir are pretty good at identifying suspicious things on the internet generally, but you never know who might just blast out their CV.

edit: after they deleted the post, that is SUPER suspicious now. I wish I'd taken a screenshot of it.
