Not entirely a *surprise but I was still disappointed about the completely useless / demonstrably false signal when troubleshooting why the system inexplicably stopped working.

* Most status pages are broken by design, presumably because managerial and executive promos and bonuses are tied to uptime SLAs. The AWS status page is the quintessential example of this nonsense, requiring manual updates and executive sign-offs before status is changed away from green.
