Surprised to see negative reactions to this. Generated search results that distill actual content are definitely better than blogspam that has only a few useful tidbits in thousands of words and dozens of huge ad blocks.


It sure must have looked like an easy way to combat blogspam to some manager.

However, seems to me that distilled blogspam is still a blogspam.


As soon at the Doubleclick CTR drops they'll be reversing this change like they did on the recent change to stop profiling anonymous YouTube users.


It's basically Perplexity which is a very good product. Google is on the money here.
